The Indiana Pacers might be in trouble.

Not only did they just lose Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals by 16 points, but they lost Tyrese Haliburton before the fourth quarter started.

Haliburton left the game with soreness in his left hamstring, as was reported by Ardian Wojnarowski on Twitter.

This isn’t the first time Haliburton has dealt with hamstring troubles, as Wojnarowski called out his 10-game absence in January for the same affliction.

Pacers All-NBA G Tyrese Haliburton — who is out for the rest of Game 2 vs. the Celtics — departed with left hamstring soreness, sources tell ESPN. Haliburton missed 10 games with a left hamstring strain in January.

Haliburton has been the heart and soul of this team all season and is a big reason why they have reached the conference finals.

As one might imagine, this is a devastating blow to team morale and the fanbase.

Fans and analysts made sure to make their feelings heard on Twitter after seeing the news.

He’s been struggling since the hamstring tear and all he’s received is hate

“Frontrunner”
“Superstar free trial ended”

It’s sad how all he’s done is play basketball and a major injury changed all perception on him

Tough news for Tyrese Haliburton and more than likely puts him at risk of missing the rest of the series with the hamstring injury. MRI will determine severity

Grade I strain: 1-2 weeks of healing
Grade II strain: 3-6 weeks of healing

Hamstrings are tough for NBA players both given their high rate of repeat injury and prolonged period of time that each potential strain (if this is the case) leads to re: games missed.

Man. Hopefully he will be able to play.

I hope the Pacers have more fight in them. But this stings

As these fan responses demonstrate, losing Haliburton is a big deal, even if it was just for the fourth quarter of Game 2.

The Pacers have a lot of work to do to get back in this series, and that starts by winning Game 3.

If Haliburton is not on the floor in that game, it will be tough for them to try and claw back in the series.

The Pacers are trying to make it to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000, which would be a massive achievement for the franchise.

Will they find a way to make it there, even if Haliburton remains sidelined?

That remains to be seen, but it could be a long 24 hours for this team as they prepare for Game 3.
