The Jacksonville Jaguars had no choice but to part ways with WR Calvin Ridley.

Keeping him would have forced them to give up a more valuable draft pick to the Atlanta Falcons, per the terms of their agreement.

Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean they can’t make a run at him again in free agency.

According to a report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Jaguars and New England Patriots will look to make a strong push for him.

On top of them, the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers could also be in the mix for his services.

Now that Calvin Ridley is set to be a free agent, the #Jaguars and #Patriots are expected to make pushes for him. The #Titans and #Panthers also could be in the WR market.

The Patriots might not be an appealing destination, as their quarterback situation is still up in the air, and he’s already familiar with Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson’s offense.

As for the Titans and Panthers, they will both have second-year quarterbacks looking to take a step forward next season, so both teams should be very aggressive in their pursuit for a WR.

While not a superstar, Ridley has proven to be one of the most reliable and underrated wideouts in the game.

The Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs could also be players for a wide receiver, and Ridley would be a significant upgrade for most teams in the league.

Ridley showed that he didn’t miss a beat despite his long layoff because of a gambling-related suspension.

On top of that, he might not be as pricey as other players at the position, and he could look to sign a one-year “prove it” kind of contract.
