The Boston Celtics are back on top of the world.

By defeating the Dallas Mavericks, they clinched their No. 18 championship, the most in NBA history.

This is the first championship for the new guard, as they haven’t won one since the Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett days.

Now, with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum leading the way, this might be the beginning of a new era of success for the Celtics.

For starters, they have the best player in the world.

Well, that’s at least according to Deuce Tatum.

Following the win, cameras caught a heartwarming moment between Tatum and his firstborn, Deuce, who has become a regular sight and fan favorite at Celtics games.

Reporters asked Tatum what Deuce told him after the win, and he revealed that he told him he was the best player in the world (via Mike Scotto & ClutchPoints).

“He told me that I was the best in the world. I said, ‘You damn right, I am.’”

That’s a bit of a stretch, but he should definitely crack the top ten.

And, the best player or not, he’s reportedly about to become the highest-paid player the game of basketball has ever seen, as he’s now eligible to sign a five-year supermax contract extension worth a whopping $315 million.

That’s a lot of toys for little Deuce right there.
