What has gotten into the Miami Marlins this season?
They have been one of the most surprising teams in baseball and have shown no signs of slowing down.
The credit should go to their front office for a few key offseason moves.
The Marlins hired new manager Skip Schumaker, who has changed the culture of Marlins baseball.
Also, they acquired the best pure hitter in baseball in Luis Arraez.
As noted by Jon Morosi, the Marlins are one of the best stories in baseball.
Their 50-37 record is something that no one saw coming, and they find themselves as serious contenders.
The @Marlins are one of the best stories in @MLB.
Luis Arraez is batting .388. Skip Schumaker is a top candidate for NL Manager of the Year.
Per Marlins PR, their 50-37 mark entering tonight is the second-best in franchise history — behind only the ’97 champs.@MLBNetwork

Sometimes just a managerial change can make all the difference for a franchise.
We saw the Phillies fire Joe Girardi for Rob Thomson during last season, and they proceeded to make it to the World Series.
It appears the addition of Schumaker is just what the Fish needed.
He is a former player and can relate to his roster differently than other managers.
Also, he is 43 years old, and one of the sport’s youngest managers.
The Marlins have become a team that many people want to watch.
That is because everyone wants to see if Arraez can achieve the unthinkable.
He is trying to become the first player since Ted Williams to bat .400 for an entire season.
Arraez is currently hitting .384 and will need a few big games to get back into the .400 conversation.
Even so, what he is doing this year is stuff that only legendary contact hitters can achieve.
Keep an eye on the Marlins for the rest of the year because they are not going anywhere.
