In 2023, the Baltimore Ravens went 13-4 and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.

Like any Super Bowl contender, the Ravens have spent the offseason plugging the holes in their roster for a title run in 2024.

Shortly into NFL free agency, the organization signed former Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry to be their battering ram on the ground.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the team addressed both sides of the ball.

However, some athletes already on the roster have Baltimore’s coaching staff giddy with excitement.

Recently, Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr mentioned safety, Kyle Hamilton, and called him the “Ultimate chess piece,” (per the Athletic-Baltimore’s Jeff Zrebic on “X”).

Orr also believes that Hamilton has the potential to bring home the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award.

Hamilton is about to begin his third campaign in a Baltimore uniform.

He was selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2022 draft after a standout career with Notre Dame.

In college, Hamilton was a Freshman All-American and Consensus All-American.

During his first year with the Ravens, Hamilton was chosen for the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie Team.

Last season, Hamilton was a first-team All-Pro and picked for his first Pro Bowl after totals of 81 combined tackles, three sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 13 passes broken up, and four interceptions, including one for a pick-six, and one forced fumble.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Hamilton has already proven in two short years that he is one of the best safeties in the game.

It’s scary that his teammates and coaches, especially Orr, think he will only get better.
