The New York Knicks are entering a key offseason.

With Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, and Bojan Bogdanovic all getting back to full strength, they just need to add another star alongside Jalen Brunson and their excellent core of role players.

Also, re-signing OG Anunoby should be at the top of their priority list, as the team was significantly better when he was around, especially on defense.

They suffered on that end of the floor when he was out with a hamstring injury in the playoffs, and considering what they gave up to get him, they can’t allow him to walk for free.

Nonetheless, a report by Sixers beat writer Keith Pompey reveals that the Philadelphia 76ers will also keep tabs on him (via NBA Central).

OG Anunoby could be a potential target for the Sixers, per @IanBegley

“As previously reported, members of the Philadelphia 76ers have seen Anunoby as an offseason target. Paul George is also a target for Philadelphia. But if the Sixers can’t get George, I could see them making… pic.twitter.com/01ONhSpVdt

While the Sixers are reportedly focused on Paul George, who can become a free agent by opting out of the final year of his contract, adding a player of Anunoby’s profile should be a nice consolation prize for Nick Nurse’s squad.

Anunoby is one of the best wing defenders in the game, and he’s not going to need many shots that could go to Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.

Both teams have more than enough assets and cap space to add another star this summer, even if they also add Anunoby.

So, he’s going to have a big decision to make in the offseason, especially considering Tom Thibodeau’s reputation of running his players into the ground and both teams’ status as potential NBA championship contenders.
