The Boston Celtics have finally gotten over the hump.
They had been knocking on the door for six years now, but they can finally rest and brag about being the NBA Champions.
With that in mind, sports analyst Skip Bayless had no choice but to tip his hat to them.
Talking on Undisputed, Bayless claimed that he showed up dressed in black because he was mourning the Dallas Mavericks.
Nonetheless, he also showed up with black-and-green sneakers to pay his respects to Paul Pierce and the Celtics.
Bayless claimed that this was a very likable Celtics team and it was their time.
“It was the Celtics’ time. They deserved it.”

He stated that there wasn’t a single player or person on the Celtics he didn’t like, stating that there were no villains there now that Brad Stevens had replaced Marcus Smart with Jrue Holiday.
The Celtics’ title was years in the making, and it was a product of a string of moves made by Danny Ainge and Stevens.
Most teams break up their core when things don’t work for a year or two, but that wasn’t the case in Boston.
They realized that they needed to be patient with their young stars and that it was better for them to have some continuity and just add a couple of pieces as opposed to revamping the roster after every shortcoming.
Now, they’re reaping what they sow, and the best part about it is that they should continue to be a powerhouse for years to come.
