When it comes to dunking in the NBA, few players have earned a place in history like Vince Carter.

During his career, Carter created numerous monster dunks that have stood the test of time and are still talked about to this day.

On Monday night, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves created his own dunk that surely made Carter proud.

Stephen A. Smith was blown away by Edwards and said that he reminds him of Carter, via Tuesday’s episode of “First Take.”

Smith and many others were floored when Edwards caught serious air over John Collins of the Utah Jazz during Monday’s win.

At that moment, he looked a lot like Carter, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and many other NBA icons who came before him.

If it was a different player dunking, the moment would have generated a lot of attention.

But it is gaining so much more praise and celebration because it came from Edwards, who is thought of as a future face of the league by many people.

Ever since joining the league, people have had high expectations for Edwards.

He has been great since 2020 but this season has featured the Timberwolves star doing even more and staking his claim as a leader for the next generation of basketball stars.

Throughout history, there have been moments when young players have made tremendous statements and proven that they could be running the league for years to come.

For many people, Edwards’ dunk on Monday was an example of that.

Carter is the best of the best when it comes to dunking and is still an icon of the league all these years later.

The fact that Smith and others are comparing Edwards to him is definitive proof that the Timberwolves star is truly someone remarkably special.
