The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a very disappointing 2022 season in which they went just 4-13 and lost quarterback Kyler Murray to an ACL injury.
Murray may not be ready to return for Week 1 of next season, and in the meantime, the NFC West is looking more competitive than it did eight months ago.
However, there is reason for hope when it comes to Arizona’s future after some draft-day moves they made.
They traded away the No. 3 pick to the Houston Texans, which gave them the No. 12 and No. 33 selections this year and a first-round and third-round pick next year.
The Cardinals then sent No. 12 to the Detroit Lions for the No. 6 pick this year, which they used on offensive lineman Paris Johnson Jr.
They also flipped the No. 33 selection to the Tennessee Titans and got the No. 41 and No. 72 selections this year and a third-round pick for next year.
As a result, Arizona will be armed with some valuable picks that will allow them to reload.
Meanwhile, #Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort now has added a 2024 first-round pick and two 2024 third-round picks through trades with the #Texans and the #Titans. Loading up for the future as the rebuild begins in Arizona.

As recently as 2021, the Cardinals went 11-6 after starting the season 7-0 and made the playoffs.
However, wide receivers Christian Kirk and A.J. Green departed, and DeAndre Hopkins is rumored to also be on his way out of Arizona, as many have felt he will be traded soon.
The team has a new head coach in Jonathan Gannon, who is fresh off helping the Philadelphia Eagles reach the Super Bowl as their defensive coordinator, and the Cardinals are hoping that he will rectify things for them moving forward.
