Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is one of the next young quarterbacks looking to receive a major contract extension.
The Jaguars’ franchise signal-caller just recently spoke with the Jacksonville media about when he’d like to engage in contract talks with the team.
“I try to keep my focus on doing my job out here…That’ll take care of itself…That’d be ideal to get it done as soon as you can and kinda move forward,” Lawrence said.
Trevor Lawrence says it would be “ideal” to work out extension with Jaguars before training camp: “Either way, like I’ve said before, I have the same job”https://t.co/CAwhYl0VME pic.twitter.com/oi07Lekc3L

The former national champion mentioned that he would prefer to get an extension done before training camp in July.
After Lions Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff inked a massive four-year deal worth $212 million, the important number for a couple of ascending quarterbacks is $50 million.
Lawrence will most likely be looking to hit that number at the very least on an annual basis.
The Pro Bowl quarterback is arguably the most talented quarterback that the team has had in a long time.
Jacksonville has had back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2004-2005.
Despite battling injuries last year, Lawrence still threw for over 4,000 yards and set a career-high for passing yards per game (251.0).
Look for the Jacksonville offense to be better this year with Lawrence, who hopefully won’t be battling shoulder and ankle injuries.
They added veteran wide receiver Gabe Davis and first-round wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. out of LSU earlier this offseason.
With 1,000-yard wide receiver Christian Kirk, 1,000-yard rusher Travis Etienne and Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram, this offense should be very solid thanks to Lawrence’s talent and abilities.
