With only a handful of games left in the 2023-24 NBA season, the Los Angeles Clippers appear set to finish as the Western Conference’s No. 4 seed.

After a tough stretch coming out of the All-Star break, the Clippers managed to re-discover their two-way play on the floor and have settled in as of late.

Los Angeles has won their past two games and they did it without superstar Kawhi Leonard, who missed both games due to right knee inflammation.

Leonard has been having a resurgent season following the past couple where he spent most of his time sidelined with injury, so his recent knee inflammation raised some alarm bells around the organization.

However, head coach Tyronn Lue didn’t sound worried about his star player’s health for the stretch run, via Mark Medina.

“I don’t have a level of concern,” Lue said.

Lue could very well be telling the truth and isn’t worried about Leonard’s knee flaring up, though he could also be protecting him as he’s been labeled as injury-prone after missing so much time.

Leonard’s health will either make or break the Clippers’ championship aspirations because when he’s available he’s one of the best players in the league.

There aren’t many players in the NBA that can single-handedly carry an offense while guarding the opposing team’s best player, making Leonard tailor-made for postseason basketball.

Leonard was ruled out for the team’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, so it remains to be see when he’ll make his return to the lineup.
