The Minnesota Timberwolves weren’t able to ride their momentum into Game 1.

The Dallas Mavericks were ready to dominate in the restricted area, taking the ball to the rim over and over, all while their opponent settled for long-range shots, which has never been their game.

The Timberwolves are fresh off a seven-game series vs. the defending NBA champions, and all teams left in contention are still dealing with the wear and tear of a tough schedule and the full season.

That’s why Draymond Green didn’t like Anthony Edwards coming out talking about exhaustion (Via NBA on TNT).

“The same way those guys have followed you to this point, they’ll follow that as well.”

Edwards said they didn’t know what to expect and that they were tired in Game 1, and Green is worried about the fact that the Timberwolves have followed their young star and his words throughout the course of the entire season, so they might start to feel like they can’t pull this off now.

Green stated that it was evident that they were tired because they got outhustled and outrebounded in the paint.

Even so, the Timberwolves were still right there, and they have more than enough talent to turn things around, but their big men need to be tougher and better.

Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively had a field day against Karl-Anthony Towns, and they also moved the defending Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert, all over the floor at will.

Despite his youth, Edwards is this team’s leader; his co-stars aren’t strong-character guys.

So, he must flip the switch again; otherwise they won’t stand a chance.
