There have been a lot of questions about college star DJ Burns Jr. ahead of next month’s NBA Draft.

The NC State Wolfpack player averaged 12.9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in his last season in college, but many wondered just where he would fit in this year’s draft.

Many feared that he was too big to be a competitive basketball star.

Burns was last recorded at 275 pounds but he has shed a lot of that weight, according to Shams Charania.

Speaking on “Run It Back,” Charania opened up about Burns’ recent weight loss.

“DJ Burns told me he has lost 45 pounds in the last six and a half weeks,” Charania said.

“He told me no Ozempic. He said he’s been doing workouts 4 days a week, at 5 AM,” Charania added.

Burns gained a lot of national attention during his last college season, especially as his team went far in March Madness.

In the NCAA tournament, Burns averaged 18.3 points per game.

Despite a strong showing in the tournament, many analysts imagined him going undrafted next month, partly because of his large size.

In fact, he was so big that the NFL reportedly had interest in drafting him if he didn’t make it in the NBA.

But this report from Charania shows that Burns saw the criticisms of his body and worked hard to improve his physicality.

Will that increase his standing in the draft and earn him entry into the league in June?

This year’s draft is a very interesting one, with no one really breaking out of the pack.

There isn’t an obvious frontrunner this year and the entire draft lineup seems to be very fluid with just weeks to go.

There isn’t certainty about what’s next for Burns, but he is clearly improving his chances of finding a team in the NBA.
